Well for unique collectors like me who don't know what they don't got they gotta search through all their pokes and compare to the pokedex... the pokedex should update with the pokeball colors cuz if you sell the pokes it still says you have them

Once you have them, it's always in your dex.

Once any activating event occurs for the caught-data entry (more obviously, obtaining the Pokemon), then the Pokemon's caught-data entry is statically registered in the database; it isn't dynamic, depending on what currently exists in the database Pokemon-wise. Would it be metagame-sound for it to change? Once it's registered, it's stored in the pokedex's own database (speaking from a metagame perspective), and thus it wouldn't be reverted by meta-events (the Pokemon leaving your possession).

Sounds like the issue is inspecting through the pokedex to contrast what is in your possession and what hasn't been obtained yet, more so than the retention of the pokedex data itself. Perhaps the "My Pokemon" page could have organizational changes to it, more so than the pokedex itself, as different food for thought? It sounds like changing a fundamentally essential aspect of the game simply to cater to personal convenience, IMO. :P

Agreed; even something like adding a number beneath each obtained special that shows how many are currently present on the account would be better for special tracking than completely re-writing the current system to remove the pokedex caught indicator when such a Pokemon is traded off the account.

I'm not here. I'm currently inactive on this forum so listen to Nexus/TheAshMan83!
(since he's pretty much the only active mod here)
