The Tutorials Gallery (GIGANTIC IMAGE WARNING)

Postby Nabeel95 » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:14 am

Hello guys. I was just looking around devart and GIMPtalk. And found some great tutorials which contain great tips that you can use in your next signatures.

Credit for this one goes to Zeometra from DevArt.

This is what I got from this tut. Most of the stuff I did myself, but the main idea was from the tutorial.

Here .....this is what most of us use...GIMP 2.6
http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/gimp.html
This is the link.
You can download it from GIMP too but I always prefer Brothersoft...

Nah, its just a link to the GIMPtalk forums. No viruses.

Here's another one. Credit to DuSk from GimpTalk forums.

I'll post my result soon. I need every GIMP user to try it out. It introduces using Sprites in your signature

Here is my outcome of the tutorial.

I don't know why, but I have a tendency to sway away from every tutorial I try. I usually start doing things on my own with my sig. I guess its a good thing that I try to experiment these things though. I think it could have been better if I sticked to the tutorial.

I have a question. How do you remove the white section of a banner? :worried:

On GIMP or Photoshop. You use the Fuzzy select/Magic wand tool and click on the white area and press delete.

I tried it on GIMP. Used the Fuzzy select and did what you said. It appears that nothing happens when I press delete. Still the same. ;(

Well. Try right-clickind on the image layer. Then click on Add Alpha Channel. Then delete and it should work now.

LoL. Try this. Right click the image layer and click Add Alpha Channel. If the alpha channel is already there, then another command 'Remove alpha channel' will be there. Don't remove it :P

Now just take the wand tool/magic select tool. Click the area you want to erase, than press 'del' It will delete it. Sometimes with more complex images you will need more advanced methods of removing background.

But still I recommend using renders instead of plain images. Go to Planetrenders.net for renders. But you will need an account to access full transparent renders.
